Start your own community by creating a Cube. This guide walks you through the setup process and helps you configure your Cube for success.

Creating a Cube

Step 1: Start Creation

  1. Go to your Cubes section
  2. Click "Create Cube" or "New Cube"

Step 2: Basic Information

Fill in the essentials:

  • Name - A clear, descriptive name for your Cube
  • Tagline - A short description (shown in previews)
  • Description - Detailed information about your Cube's purpose
  • Category - Choose the most relevant category

Step 3: Privacy Settings

Choose your visibility:

  • Public - Discoverable by anyone
  • Private - Hidden from search, link or invite needed
  • Secret - Completely hidden, invite only

Step 4: Join Method

Decide how people can join:

  • Open - Anyone can join immediately
  • Approval - Requests must be approved by admins
  • Invite Only - Members need an invite code

Step 5: Create

Review your settings and click "Create Cube". You're now the owner!

Creation Requests

In some cases, Cube creation may require approval:

  • New users may need to submit a creation request
  • Provide a reason for wanting to create the Cube
  • Platform admins review and approve requests
  • You're limited to 3 pending requests at a time
Tip: Write a clear, compelling reason when submitting a creation request. Explain what your Cube will be about and who it's for.

After Creation

Customize Your Cube

  • Upload an avatar (Cube profile picture)
  • Add a cover image (header banner)
  • Refine your description

Create Your First Chat

  1. Go to the Chats section of your Cube
  2. Create a "General" chat for all members
  3. Consider creating topic-specific chats

Enable Features

Configure which features are active:

  • CUES - Allow discussions and posts
  • Feed - Enable activity feeds
  • E2EE Support - Allow encrypted chats

Inviting Members

For invite-only or private Cubes:

  1. Go to Cube settings
  2. Create an invite link or code
  3. Set expiry and usage limits if desired
  4. Share with people you want to invite

Best Practices

  • Clear purpose - Make sure people know what your Cube is about
  • Welcoming description - Help newcomers feel comfortable
  • Organized chats - Create separate channels for different topics
  • Set expectations - Establish community guidelines early
