Share your thoughts, ask questions, or start a discussion by creating a CUE. This guide covers all CUE types and how to make your posts effective.
Creating a CUE
Step 1: Start a New CUE
- From the CUES feed, click "Create CUE" or the compose button
- Or from within a Cube, find the CUE creation option
Step 2: Choose the Type
Select the type that best fits your post:
- Discussion - General posts and conversations
- Question - When you need help or answers
- Announcement - Important news or notices
- Poll - When you want to gather votes
- Link - Sharing external content
Step 3: Add Content
Title
Write a clear, descriptive title that tells people what your CUE is about.
Body
Add your main content:
- Text explanation or discussion
- Context and background
- Your thoughts or questions
Attachments (optional)
- Add images to illustrate your point
- Attach files if relevant
- Include links for references
Step 4: Add Tags
Tags help people find your CUE:
- Add relevant topic tags
- Use existing popular tags when possible
- Keep tags focused and specific
Step 5: Set Visibility
Choose who can see your CUE:
- Public - Everyone
- Members Only - Logged-in users
- Cube Only - Only Cube members (for Cube CUES)
Step 6: Post
Review and click "Post" to publish your CUE.
Creating a Poll
Polls have additional options:
- Select "Poll" as your CUE type
- Add your question as the title
- Add poll options (choices for people to vote on)
- Choose single or multiple choice:
- Single choice - Voters pick one option
- Multiple choice - Voters can select multiple options
- Optionally set an expiration date
- Post your poll
Tip: Keep poll options clear and distinct. Avoid overlapping choices that might confuse voters.
Posting in a Cube
To post a CUE within a specific Cube:
- Go to the Cube
- Navigate to the CUES section
- Create your CUE from there
- It will automatically be associated with that Cube
You can choose whether Cube CUES also appear in the global feed.
Tips for Effective CUES
Good Titles
- Be specific and descriptive
- Avoid clickbait
- Include key information
Quality Content
- Provide context
- Be clear about what you're asking or sharing
- Use formatting to improve readability
Relevant Tags
- Use 2-5 tags per post
- Choose tags that accurately describe your content
- Check if popular tags exist before creating new ones
Editing and Deleting
Editing
You can edit your CUE after posting:
- Go to your CUE
- Click "Edit"
- Make changes
- Save
Deleting
To delete a CUE:
- Go to your CUE
- Click "Delete"
- Confirm deletion
Note: Deleting a CUE also removes all its comments and votes. This cannot be undone.
