Managing Your Cube

Member roles, settings, and administration tools

As a Cube owner or admin, you have tools to manage members, configure settings, and keep your community running smoothly.

Member Management

Member Roles

Assign roles based on trust and responsibility:

Role Can Do
Owner Everything, including deleting the Cube and transferring ownership
Admin Manage members, create chats, change settings
Moderator Moderate content, mute members, handle reports
Member Participate in chats and CUES
Restricted Limited access to certain features

Changing Member Roles

  1. Go to the Cube's member list
  2. Find the member you want to promote or demote
  3. Click on their role
  4. Select the new role
  5. Confirm the change

Removing Members

  1. Find the member in the member list
  2. Click "Remove" or "Kick"
  3. Confirm removal

Banning Members

For serious violations:

  1. Find the member
  2. Select "Ban"
  3. Optionally add a reason
  4. Confirm

Banned members cannot rejoin the Cube.

Muting Members

For temporary restrictions:

  1. Find the member
  2. Select "Mute"
  3. Set the duration
  4. Confirm

Muted members can view content but cannot post.

Handling Join Requests

For Cubes with approval required:

  1. Go to the pending requests section
  2. Review each request
  3. Approve or deny
  4. Members are notified of the decision
  1. Go to Cube settings
  2. Find "Invites" or "Invite Links"
  3. Click "Create Invite"
  4. Configure options:
    • Expiry - When the link stops working
    • Max uses - How many people can use it
  5. Copy and share the link
Tip: Create limited-use invites for specific people and general invites for public sharing.

Chat Management

Creating Chats

  1. Go to the Cube's chat section
  2. Click "Create Chat"
  3. Name your chat
  4. Set the chat type (general, private, or E2EE)
  5. Configure access settings
  6. Create

Chat Access Levels

  • All members - Everyone in the Cube can access
  • Specific roles - Only certain roles can access
  • Invite only - Must be added to the chat

Cube Settings

Basic Settings

  • Name - Update the Cube name
  • Description - Change the description
  • Tagline - Update the short description
  • Category - Change the category

Privacy Settings

  • Visibility - Public, Private, or Secret
  • Join method - Open, Approval, or Invite Only

Feature Settings

  • Enable CUES - Allow discussions and posts
  • Enable feed - Show activity feed
  • E2EE support - Allow encrypted chats

Transferring Ownership

If you need to hand off your Cube:

  1. Go to Cube settings
  2. Find "Transfer Ownership"
  3. Select the new owner (must be a current admin)
  4. Confirm the transfer
Warning: Ownership transfer is irreversible. You will become an admin after transferring.

Deleting a Cube

Only owners can delete a Cube:

  1. Go to Cube settings
  2. Find "Delete Cube"
  3. Confirm you understand this is permanent
  4. Delete
Warning: Deleting a Cube removes all chats, CUES, and member data permanently. This cannot be undone.
