Ready to share your content? This guide covers everything you need to know about uploading videos to Wave, from file preparation to publishing.
Before You Upload
Make sure you have:
- An approved creator account
- A video file in MP4, WebM, or MOV format
- A title and description ready
Upload Process
Step 1: Access the Upload Page
- Go to /wave/upload/
- Or click "Upload" from your creator dashboard
Step 2: Select Your Video
- Click "Choose File" or drag and drop your video
- Select whether this is a Video (long-form) or Vid (short-form)
- The upload will begin automatically
Tip: For files larger than 100 MB, Wave uses chunked uploading. This means if your connection drops, you can resume where you left off rather than starting over.
Step 3: Add Details
While your video uploads, fill in the metadata:
- Title - A clear, descriptive title for your video
- Description - Tell viewers what to expect
- Category - Choose the most relevant category
- Hashtags - Add relevant tags to help people find your content
Step 4: Set Thumbnail
You have two options:
- Auto-generated - Wave will capture a frame from your video
- Custom upload - Upload your own thumbnail image (recommended)
Thumbnail requirements:
- 16:9 aspect ratio recommended
- Maximum 5 MB file size
- JPG or PNG format
Step 5: Privacy Settings
Choose who can see your video:
- Public - Everyone can find and watch
- Platform - Only logged-in CUEBES members
- Connections - Only your connections
- Private - Only you can see it
Step 6: Additional Settings
- Allow comments - Enable or disable comments
- Allow duets - Let others create response videos
Step 7: Publish
Click "Publish" to make your video live, or "Save as Draft" to finish later.

Sharing External Videos
To share a YouTube Short or TikTok video:
- Go to /wave/upload/
- Select "External Video"
- Paste the video URL
- Wave will fetch the video details automatically
- Add your own commentary or description
- Publish
Note: External videos embed the original content. The original creator is always credited.
Troubleshooting
Upload Fails or Stalls
- Check your internet connection
- Ensure your file is under the size limit
- Try a different browser
- For large files, the chunked upload should resume automatically
Video Won't Play After Upload
- Give it a few moments - the video may still be processing
- Ensure your file format is supported (MP4, WebM, MOV)
